Location: Minnetonka, MN
Duration: 6-12 months (potential contract to hire)

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Work closely with technical publications team members to plan documentation updates.
  • Review existing content and shared topics, and convert legacy documentation into concept, task and reference topics.
  • Identify the audience, user environment and tasks to be addressed in manuals.
  • Plan and track documentation projects and deliver assignments on schedule.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, English or related field.
  • At least five years of technical writing, preferably with at least some Agile experience.
  • Experience with Madcap Flare and other technical publications tools such as FrameMaker, Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of topic-based writing.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and XML.
  • Ability to assess content for usability and a drive to enhance user experience.
  • Strong command of the English language, and the ability to self-edit.
  • Superb content organization skills and an ability to deliver information in a clear, easy-to-read writing style.
