POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Principal Digital and Social Media Manager leads comprehensive plans to build brand awareness and generate leads. As a paid media expert, this role consults with the global marketing team to provide media mix recommendations while leading the execution across channels.

As an expert in account-based marketing, this role leverages deep knowledge of our personas to advance potential customers along the buying journey. Paired with strong knowledge of social media, programmatic advertising, trade media, and marketing automation, the Principal Digital and Social Media Manager is a thought partner to the product marketing teams.

Reporting to the Director, Global Integrated Marketing, this role strives to continually improve the customer experience by thoughtfully architecting digital media plans to deliver the right content, to the right audience, at the right time.

 A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops outright, or in partnership with others, compelling digital and social media strategies to promote the organization’s products and services through digital channels.
  • Establishes, maintains and updates stakeholder centric digital experiences, including the identification, selection and deployment of platforms, tools and applications that deliver on strategic programs and campaigns.
  • Develops promotional programs and campaigns designed to achieve defined business objectives with target audiences via digital channels.
  • Utilizes search engines to maximize Medtronic content utilization and visibility.
  • Establishes and manages the relationships with search engines and third-party sites as required and in accordance with company policies and governance structures.
  • Manages the implementation and measures performance of digital programs, content and key stakeholder digital engagement results and develops insights into customer’s digital behaviors.
  • Develops and manages social media channels and social media campaigns to build stakeholder engagement.
  • Establishes and maintains enterprise digital standards, policies and governance.
  • Manages digital consultants, agencies and vendors.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of 7 years digital and social media experience
  • Expert in account-based marketing
  • Strong social media, programmatic advertising, trade media, and marketing automation skills
  • Strong knowledge of WorkFront or similar project management tool
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Analytics
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
