POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a collaboration-driven design generalist with an eye for composition, balance and continuity, who uses all tools available to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of internal clients and media.

The role of the Creative Media Design Specialist requires visualizing and creating graphics, including: layouts (print and digital), presentation slides, icons, illustrations, photography (selection/editing), and animation. You’ll be involved with shaping the visual aspects of branding elements, presentations, publications, websites, displays, videos, events, exhibitions, and more.

The ideal candidate must be highly organized and have a strong ability to take complex or abstract subject matter and translate it into compelling visuals that align with the strategic intent of the design brief. You must communicate well, working methodically, effectively, and quickly in a fast-paced environment while possessing strong time management skills when juggling multiple competing projects from design to implementation. You should be equally comfortable with strategic design concepting as you are with detailed design production work, with a penchant for keeping files well-managed and tidy.

Will start at 40 hours during a busy time of year, but settle between 25-30 hours/week.

MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Corporate/Healthcare Design Experience
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Adobe Suite Fluency
  • Requires a University Degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Thorough knowledge of and experience with the Adobe Creative Suite: Advanced Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign skills are required. Experience with Adobe After Effects and Premiere is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Thorough knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced PowerPoint and Word skills are required.
  • Strong track record of effective file management and project management
  • Experience working with large-format graphics, such as convention booths and murals
  • Knowledge and work experience working with digital & online platforms, including mobile
  • Experience and ability to follow brand guidelines with an innovation mindset
  • Experience working with and managing vendors, both internal/external
  • Comfortable taking on a leadership role with clients and design staff as needed on a project-to-project basis
  • Strong problem-solving skills § Comfortable helping define the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy, with a significant impact on work group results
  • Must be available to work on a fluctuating work schedule, with the potential for evening and weekend requests
