When meeting with a new client, it is important to find out if the client has any experience working with tech. comm. professionals. If the answer is “no” or “very little”, then it is advised that you assume the role of educator, & provide an overview of what they should expect in terms of demands on their time & involvement. This “client training” activity should also take place in more detail following acceptance of the proposal/quotation by the client, & include conversations relating to what the client needs to provide on a timely basis.
